Aeroplan is a Canadian-based membership rewards program with a network of more than 70 partners in the financial, retail and travel sectors. Aeroplan’s roster of non-flight rewards now includes two domestic wine tours: one to Ontario’s Niagara region, the other to Okanagan, in the interior of British Columbia.
The Gourmet Niagara Wine Tour and Dinner (14,500 Aeroplan Miles) includes afternoon visits to three of the region’s most impressive vineyards: Jackson-Triggs, Lailey Vineyard and Strewn Winery, the site of Canada’s only wine cooking school. The tour ends with a three-course French Provençal dinner at the Strewn Winery restaurant, Terroir la Cachette.
Aeroplan’s Okanagan Wine Tour (15,500 Aeroplan Miles) makes for a longer day, with visits to five of the area’s most famous wineries, including Mt. Boucherie Estate Winery, Summerhill Pyramid Winery and Cedar Creek Estate Winery. The tour begins at the 2007 Canadian Winery of The Year, Mission Hill Family Estate Winery, and ends at Carmelis Artisan Goat Cheese Farm—voted one of the finest cheese producers in Canada. Lunch is served at the Quails Gate Old Vines Restaurant, known for its spectacular views of local vineyards and Lake Okanagan.
